I'm Eighteen (2003-08-07)
Following the first two albums that were released on Frank Zappa's Straight label, Alice Cooper found his first taste of commercial success with "Love It to Death". The songs contained bare all of the trademarks of this classic period, but this is the Alice Cooper band raw and before the elaborate stage show. The sound is far from metal and closer to garage punk. Listening to songs such as "Is it My Body"(later covered by Sonic Youth), and the number one hit "I'm Eighteen" show you what a completely underrated and original band they were. This is a highly influencial and consistantly good album. It's a shame that his later work of the eighties and nineties casts a shadow over his most outstanding material. His greatest and most original work has yet to receive the credit that it deserves in retrospect. See for yourself....
